TILE INSTALLATION AUSTIN
Tile installation in Austin, set right the first time
H&H Pro Services installs floor tile, showers, backsplash, large-format, and natural stone across Austin. Alberto Salazar quotes the job and sets the tile himself.
What we install
H&H handles the full range of residential tile work. Floor tile through kitchens, entries, and living areas. Shower and wet-area tile including pans, curbs, niches, and benches. Kitchen and bath backsplash. Large-format tile and slab-look panels that need a flat plane to sit right. Natural stone like marble, travertine, and slate that has to be sealed and handled differently than porcelain.
We also lay patterns that take real layout work, from herringbone and running bond to basketweave and picture-frame borders. This is for homeowners doing a bath remodel, a kitchen refresh, a floor replacement, or a renovation who want the tile set by someone who does it every day, not a rotating crew.
Floor tile
Porcelain and ceramic through kitchens, baths, entries, and open living areas, set flat with even joints.
Shower and wet-area tile
Waterproofed pans, curbs, niches, and benches built to shed water, not trap it behind the wall.
Backsplash
Kitchen and bath backsplash with clean outlet cuts, tight terminations, and grout that matches the design.
Large-format
Big-panel and slab-look tile that needs substrate leveling and the right thinset coverage to avoid lippage and hollow spots.
Natural stone
Marble, travertine, and slate handled and sealed for what the material actually needs.
Patterns
Herringbone, running bond, basketweave, and bordered layouts planned so cuts land where they should.

Why layout and prep decide how tile holds up
The part of a tile job you never see is the part that fails first when it is skipped. A good-looking floor over a bad substrate telegraphs every high and low spot, cracks grout lines, and works tile loose over time. Before any tile goes down, we check the substrate for flatness and level it where it needs it, so large-format and stone sit on a true plane instead of rocking.
In wet areas we waterproof behind the tile, not just on top of it. Showers get a proper waterproofing membrane behind the wall board and across the pan, sloped to the drain, so water that gets through the grout has somewhere to go besides the framing. We plan movement and expansion gaps at walls, transitions, and long runs, and leave perimeter joints where they belong instead of grouting tile tight to a wall and letting it crack.
Grout is a decision, not an afterthought. We match grout type and joint width to the tile and the location, so a shower floor, a backsplash, and a large-format entry each get what suits them. This invisible work is where H&H puts its attention, because it is what keeps the finished job flat, sealed, and quiet for years.
Substrate leveling
We flatten and level the base first so large-format and stone don't rock, lip, or crack.
Waterproofing behind wet walls
Membrane behind the board and across a sloped pan, so water reaches the drain, not the framing.
Expansion and movement
Perimeter and transition joints planned in, instead of grouting tile tight and waiting for it to crack.
Grout choice
Grout type and joint width matched to the tile and the room, shower to backsplash to floor.
The owner is on every job
H&H Pro Services is owner-operated. Alberto Salazar quotes the work, plans the layout, and sets the tile himself. You are not handed off to a rotating sub after you sign, and the person who looked at your bathroom is the person kneeling on the floor setting it.
That is the difference on a tile job. Layout calls, cut lines, where a pattern breaks at a wall, how a niche lines up with the field tile, these get made by one set of hands with a reason behind them. We are a newer company and we run it that way on purpose, because it is the only way to keep the standard where we want it.
Where we work
H&H serves Austin and the surrounding area, including Westlake, Rollingwood, Tarrytown, Bee Cave, and Lakeway. A renovation in Westlake is in progress right now, and we are documenting the tile work as it happens. If you are outside these areas but nearby, call and ask.
